PERSONAL SURVIVAL TECHNIQUES

(Section A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code) This module provides knowledge of essential prevention and survival techniques. It includes both theoretical and practical sessions, investigating causes of distress, knowledge and use of equipment, launch and recovery of life rafts,preparation for survival, personal survival skills and use of search and rescue organisations.

Duration of course: 1 day

Attendance: Minimum 4 trainees per day.

This module course include:

  • The need to comply with emergency procedures
  • Take precautions to prevent pollution to the marine environment
  • Observing safe working practices
  • Contribute to effective human relations onboard ships

The training course complies with the IMO STCW 2010 code.
