OPERATIONAL USE OF ELECTRONIC USE OF ELECTRONIC CHART DISPLAY AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS

This course intends to provide the knowledge , skill and understanding of ECDIS and electronic charts  to the thorough extent needed to safely navigate vessels whose primary means of navigations is ECDIS . The course emphasizes both the application and learning of ECDIS in a variety of underway context.This course is designed to meet the requirements of basic training in the use of electronic chart navigation and displacement systems (ECDIS), aimed at captains and deck officers in charge of the navigational watch, on the basis of the Rules II / 1, Section A-II / 1 Table A-II / 1, Rules II / 2 Section A-II / 2 Table A-II / 2, Rules II / 3 Section A-II /3 Table A-II/3, referring to the use of electronic navigation of International Convention on Training, Certification and Wachtkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978, as amended and its Training Code
